Successful border crossing yesterday afternoon. Took a “Scenic Route” that wasn’t and ended up at Nelway vs. initially planned crossing at Kingsgate via Sandpoint. Road to Customs and Immigration was empty. No traffic either way….at all. Got to crossing, presented passports, was asked 6-8 questions and told have an enjoyable trip. Painless, uneventful experience.

Earlier yesterday we stopped at a rest stop south of Spokane that was in middle of the channeled scablands. It was obvious that water had scoured the entire landscape for miles. Above us was a road cut – maybe 200’ above us – where you could see 30’ of Palouse top soil with scoured rock beneath. So flood waters were about 200’ feet deep.in the entire region.

Ended up in Yahk Provincial Park campsite for USD $16.50. Pit toilets, no electricity, no restaurants in Yahk, population about 100.
Will drive east to Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump, a World Heritage Site.
